A ceremony was held on 12 June 2026 to celebrate the official opening of a further Dardanup Heritage Trail sign covering the history of water and irrigation in the Shire of Dardanup. The sign was completed thanks to a $2000 grant from Harvey Water in 2025. The sign was designed and fabricated by Publik in Perth. It has been installed near the Dethridge Wheel in Eustace Fowler Park.
An overview of the project was given by Dardanup Heritage Collective Secretary, Janice Calcei, before John Giumelli and Tom Garbelini spoke about the early history of water and irrigation management in the Dardanup Shire. The sign was declared open local farmer Tom Garbelini along with Harvey Board representatives Clayton Minson and Kevin Depiazzi.
Thanks were extended to Harvey Water, the Shire of Dardanup, all contributors to the photographs and story for the sign and to David Wells for the installation.
The weather was kind with a beautiful sunny morning provided a break from the wintery weather. A morning tea held afterwards at the Thomas Little Hall was enjoyed by all.
