Dardanup had an active repertory group in the years roughly between 1951 – 1961. These dates likely coincide with the owners of the Saveway Store (in a building once next to the Hotel), Ron and Esme Blythe being in Dardanup. They feature in most productions over these years.

10 programmes of performances are available from this time and give a wonderful insight into entertainment of the time. The variety of community members involved also highlights the activity as one that was widely enjoyed by those performing in plays, the producers and those supporting each production. Not to mention the audiences who attended!

Four of the programmes are dated. The other six are indicated with an estimated date range. This is based on the known dates that businesses advertising in the programmes were present in Dardanup. For example, it is known that Scriveners ran the bakery at this time until 1954 after which the Ligman’s purchased it. Scriveners advertise in three programmes before 1954, after which Ligman’s advertise. The programs with unknown dates simple have a program number. Numbering does not indicate any particular order as that is unknown.
